I have a couple of class 3 items and will be looking to purchase another one near the end of summer. I have an established trust for the items I own. Will I need to do another trust for a new item or can it just be added to the trust I have? Secondly, how would go about adding Mrs. Bombguy to the trust, the people that set it up originally screwed me over on that one. Thanks for the input and assistance.

I just added my new Ithaca Stakeout to my existing trust but it's too early to know anything about the transfer yet, the class III dealer said the approval should happen in 30-90 days. He did say that any changes to the trust (such as my change of address) would require an amended letter notifying the BATFE of said change, so that the NFA registry would reflect same.

I'd just notify them of the addition of Mrs. Bombguy's name to the trust and then request written confirmation from them of the change. Then when you do your next trust transfer all should be in order.

New Items to the trust need to be added to "Schedule A". This lists everything that the trust owns. The next question is are you adding "Mrs Bombguy" as a "Trustee" or a" Trustor". There is a big difference. Now I'm not an attorney, but I think, if you want to add somebody as a "Trustee", the trust name needs to be modified and refiled.

On my schedule A I have the items listed as "All NFA Items". I did this at the suggestion of Jeff @ AZ Armory when I bought my SBR from him in 2010 and it was not an issue.
