Palmetto State Armory has a great sale on Strikefires going on right, $50 off. I was considering picking one up to try. I'd really like an Aimpoint PRO or an Eotech, but my financial situation is not accommodating of spending $400 right now.

It will be for my 10.5" upper. Right now it has an Eotech clone that was essentially given to me to review but I'm not overly impressed so far. I'll know after the weekend when I run it through Glen's carbine class.

I like the fact it has a 2x included, as my eyes are not great at distant targets and that would help a bit.

I know I will hear the standard "save your money and get xyz" but I'm interested in that. I'm specifically curious of those that have actual experience with the Strikefire and what they think of it.

The Strikefire is solid. Get one and you'll be happy.

As a side note, their on/off switch does annoy me, but Vortex optics are solid.

How would you rate it next to a Primary Arms? Better, worse, same?

I have two of them and they have been great, no issues.

I just picked up an optics maddness upper from psa. Haven't been out shooting with it yet but it seems solid.

I'm actually leaning towards a Primary Arms micro red dot now. I looked at Bombguy's over the weekend and talked to Glen about them. I'd like to keep the upper lightweight since its an SBR. I wasn't sure I was going to like the smaller aperture, but I didn't mind at all.

Vortex sights are not bad but like rizzo said the on off button is annoying. It needs to be moved.

Sportsmans warehouse has them for about 150 and they will laser sight it in.

I have a lucid red dot and it is pretty nice.
