I just wanted to post a little bit about Primary Arms optics. i currently have their M4 clone red dot on my SBR and their 4-16x scope on my 18" SPR style AR. I have also owned their 1-4x scope, which I traded for the 4-16x. The scopes are a great value. They are not, nor are they claiming to be as good as Aimpoint or other high-end scopes, but for what I need, they meet it perfectly. I have only a couple hundred rounds but I have not had to re-zero since mounting and initially zeroing them. Now I don't think they would take the damage and Aimpoint or Nightforce would, but I have no need for that. They seem to work plenty well enough for plinking, range and even some matches.

Customer service is also top-notch. Marshall is quick to answer emails and the shipping is super fast! He even took some measurements for me when I was looking at buying a magnifier to make sure my rear BUIS would fit under it.

I have a M4gery build planned and I think I will be going with their M3 clone and 3x magnifier.

I have a "tacticool" AK build in mind and think I will be going with their MI rear site replacement/PA reflex site package for it: http://primaryarms.c...&categoryId=675.

I saw this before on another board and I wouldn't mind that at all.

I bought their Micro red dot about a year ago, and I beat the crap out of it. It sits on my primary AR, which is also my work rifle, so it sees a lot of abuse. It get pounded by dust storms, set in the sun, slammed on the ground, and whipped by the rain. And it keeps working.

I would highly recommend the upgraded mounts, however - even Marshall at Primary Arms will be the first to tell you that his mounts are not that great. I opted for the American Defense mount on his recommendation and it's solid - even keeps my BZO combat accurate if I take it off and put it back on.

I have their deluxe extended mount, I think it is called, and it seems pretty sturdy. Time will tell. I have heard good things about the Burris PEPR as another affordable, yet sturdy mount.

While yes they are made in China, I know Marsh goes to the factory to visit regularly and even returns deliveries if not up to his standards. I really believe they are an alternative to the big guys that is both affordable and reliable.

They just got their new 3x compact scope. I may have to pick one of these up too! Looks like plenty of clearance for a rear BUIS and the side rails can come off.

That is what I love about "value" scopes, you can paint them up, all nice, like what you did.
I can't bring myself to paint my Leupolds :p

It's just stuff. And painting it makes it more useful stuff. Besides, if you don't like it then you can remove the paint.

The hardest part of spray painting a scope is the first press of the button...after that, it is a piece of cake.. :D
But on another note, myself and two others have decided to take a drink of the PA Red-Dot kool-aid. We ordered the micro-dots for our builds and hope to have all our parts together by the end of February for running in a carbine course. We will get a chance to see how they perform in the field.

I have drank the PA Koolaid. I'm not saying they are the best out there by any means. But I do believe that for the average/recreational shooter they are more than enough! I'd go as far to say the most people hanging a $1000 ACOG or whatever on their AR15 will NEVER use it to its full capabilities. I certainly don't. If I was going off to war or it was in my duty vehicle it would be different. But for weekend shooting, a few matches and hopefully for some classes in the new year, I think they will work fine for me.

I'm actually switching my 10.5" upper to a 16" upper and will be putting a PA 1-4x on it.

Also info, which I can't confirm, but have read on multiple boards that the Primary Arms 1-4x and Millet DMS-1 are made in the same plant and are identical other than a different reticle. Kevin and I looked at his DMS1 and my old 1-4x side by side and I would say they certainly appear identical. But for some reason Millet can get an extra 100 bucks for theirs.

Kind of my thoughts, I'm building a basic lightweight jeep gun and thought the PA would be perfect. Glen's reviews have been solid so a few of us decided to give it a try. Don't think we will be disappointed.

I got one for my m4, only cost $75 with a mount and shipping. Figured for that and all the good reviews it should be ok. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet but it looks pretty decent, not much different from the real thing. The micro dot looks good too, same good reviews as the others.

The PA 1X4 is made in the same factory on the same equipment as the Millet DMS overseas. I am unsure of the others, but a dealer that sells alot of PA stuff told me when we were comparing. The difference is the reticle and the stamp. PA has a great reputation. There is a video floating around of someone at Pima Pistol Club throwing a PA microdot around the parking lot, and then using it to test it out, worked fine. They are budget scopes but they seem to do really well and their customer service is outstanding. Marsh as he goes by on most of the boards wants his customers to be satisfied and will bend over backwards to accomplish it.
