This is probably one of the most badass things I have ever seen. If my kids were around pools, they would have this training!

That was how i was taught to swim years ago....Literally sink or swim. I was helped just enough to figure it out and not die, or so i was told. I have no memories of not being able to swim

Years ago, I was an assistant Instructor for SCUBA diving.

One day, I went to the pool early to get my stuff together, suited up and went out just in time to see someone wing a little kid into the pool.

I ran around halfway to the pool to save the kid before I saw a bunch of women with little kids around the pool area.

It turns out it was a drownproofing class. It's an enormously great idea.

And Glen, no offense, but if you don't get your kids this training, you're a fool. You just don't know when they're going to be in someone else's house where there is a pool or some other place where there's a bunch of standing water, like now. There are a number of water catchement areas around me where kids could stumble in and drown.

Just do it.

My kids are now no longer toddlers, and they all have been through swim classes and are perfectly comfortable in the water. I did not know about "drownproofing" for toddlers, thus my comment.

I took my 4 month old to "Mommy and Me" swim lessons. Didn't learn too much, but is a lot more comfortable around water now. Will probably do another 6 week class in a few months when baby might actually have enough coordination to swim/float.
