Hi. My Name is Neil, but everyone calls me Jock, No, I dont play American Football, Here on my side of the pond, we have a tradition within the Military to give each other nicknames, I'm Jock because i'm Scottish and Scots Soldiers are traditionally called Jock's and their units are Jock Units/Regiments.
At the Moment I am serving with Devon Army Cadet Force and am employed as The County Shooting Officer. Thought I would join and try to pick up some tips to enhance the shooting experience for my Cadets (12 - 18 years old). Kind Regards. Jock.

Welcome Jock.
Some of our military give nicknames. It's pretty common in the Marines and somewhat less common in the Army. I have no idea about the Air Force and Navy though.
I got my nickname of Flash in the Army and still use it to this day.
