Curious as to what everyone is using in regards to predator hunts. My M4 is not set up for distance, however, I think my 7mm may be a little overkill.

223 works good and the amo is cheaper.

7mm will blow them to pieces, but if you're not worried about fur then who cares.

I use a shotgun for most of my predators, but when a rifle is needed I stick with an AR. Any 16" carbine will do just fine, as here in AZ your shots tend to be close, so you don't need to "reach out" most of the time anyways. I'm sure however your M4 is setup will be just fine.

Thanks for the info guys, I suppose you are right...not sure why I always have this idea that I am going to be attempting 1000 meters shots, lol.

Shotgun for the close quarters thick stuff and my trusty 22.250 for some of the more open country I hunt.

I used a lar 308 with FMJ 150gr. Nice clean kills and you get to keep the hide
