what would it be?
And I mean using a C&R-style scope. It could be a repro, but what rifle and scope would you do?

aw the choices are unlimited. In reality, I'd love to have an enfield sniper, they are an incredible looking and shooting unit, the 303 round can be an awesome shooter.
I had a m1d, garand sniper, but passed it on to my pops platoon buddies after his death, they had served in the south pacific together on 5 island landings and survived, boy the stories they could tell.
Uh, the 9130, has to be one of the most accurate, along with any of the swiss line, any of the K's, well the mas59 is a dandy too.
The list goes on, hence my problems with deciding what to keep, collect, trade, sell, fondle, sleep with.
It a dang sickness I tell ya, a sickness.
heheeh, I love it though.

I'ma gonna find which of my Finn M-39s shoots the best. then I'm gonna set a PEM scope on it.
actually I'll be shooting scoped stuff when I'm retired so I hope to find some scopes for the mas49/56, Hakiim, Yugo m24/7, m44 carbine, 91/30, and others..... it's time to find what shoots the best out of my duplicates... I keep saying that..

If I could find an SVT 40 with the sniper notch and scope rails that's the one I'd scope.

I couldn't afford the scope at the time so I killed an NCStar I think...to fit

My friend put an NC Star on his AR 15. The cross hairs went south after 30 rounds so it is no surprise it died. on the SVT 40. I have heard mixed reports on the durability of the repro SVT 40 sniper scopes.

I have heard plenty of negative stories about NC Star scopes. I must have gotten lucky with the one I had. I zero'd it in and never had an issue. A buddy of mine's wife stuck a pretty small mandarin orange on a tree branch at about 150 or so yards shooting once. I shot at it once standing and missed and then went prone and hit it with a 2-7 power NC Star ACOG knock-off set at 4x from my AR15. Kevinjs1 was there that day to see it.
I think scope like NC Star are great for things like .22LRs or trying to figure out what type of scope you want before dropping the money on a higher end scope.
I have an itch for a Mosin sniper. I may have to pick one up with a repro PU scope soon.

I scope a lot of my milsurps. If I was to scope only one?... it would either be the K31 or my 91/30 Mosin Nagant ex-PU sniper. I scoped both. The K31 will shoot 5 leaf clovers all day. The PU sniper shoots MOA until the barrel heats up. ...but then again my L1A1 with a 9 power scope shoots like a bolt gun. Tough decision.
I made the scope mount for the FN-49 out of 3/8" aluminum stock and a Tasco shotgun mount with integral rings. None of my milsurps are drilled and tapped except for the Mosins and they were ex-snipers that I restored. All the rest are no drill / no tap mounts.
